Who We Are

We are a coalition of 800 civil rights, consumer, labor, faith, veterans, seniors and community organizations from all 50 states who oppose the CFPB’s effort to repeal the current rule on payday lending. We strongly support the current rule from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that works to stop the payday debt trap and state usury rate caps. Payday, car-title, and high cost installment loans, with annual rates of 300% or more, have dug borrowers into a dangerous hole of debt. Until the federal government catches up, states must create new protections to put an end to the scam and end these abusive practices.
